CMO Valves specializes in the design, manufacture and installation of gate valves, penstocks and butterfly valves. The company was founded in 1993 and has production in Spain. With an experienced and qualified team, CMO delivers fluid control solutions to a number of different sectors. Below we would like to present CMO's gate valves and how they can solve the challenges in the water and wastewater system of a Norwegian municipality.
XB Series | Monoblock and Polyurethane Seat
The XB series is designed to provide full and continuous fluid flow. In the open position, the valve does not cause cavitation or turbulence in the fluid, making it ideal for applications where smooth fluid flow is essential. The valve body is made as a single piece “monoblock” and has an internal polyurethane coating. This construction gives the valve excellent characteristics for operation with abrasive fluids containing solids in various concentrations.
Main features:
- Full and continuous liquid flow without cavitation and turbulence
- Two-way sealing to prevent leakage in both directions
- Durable construction with polyurethane coating that protects against abrasive fluids
- AISI316 stainless steel on damper, spindle, bolts and nuts for high durability
- LUG design makes the valve suitable for many applications
- Epoxy coating in 250µm thickness for good corrosion protection
Designed to withstand high pressure and harsh conditions, this valve is perfect for applications that require high reliability and efficiency. Easy maintenance, long life and maximum performance.

AB series | Two-way sealing slide damper
The valve body is made from a single piece with seal guides on both sides, allowing it to handle fluids in both directions and withstand high pressures. This design provides a completely flat seat with no internal cavities, preventing the accumulation of solids in the sealing area. The fully drilled, circular passage allows high flow rates and minimal pressure loss, while the disc is guided throughout its entire travel to ensure a bidirectional seal.
Design for precision and fit
On request, the knife valve can be supplied with a triangular (V-shaped) or pentagonal diaphragm for applications requiring more precise regulation.
Durable materials and easy maintenance
The stem, disc, bolts and nuts are made of AISI 316, which provides better resistance to corrosion. The independent protective cap makes it easy to carry out maintenance, such as lubricating the stem, without having to remove the handwheel. The valve body is made of nodular cast iron (GJS500-7) and has an epoxy coating with a thickness of 250µm for good corrosion protection. The yoke has a compact design, and the bronze actuator nut is protected in a lubricated, closed housing, which makes it possible to operate the valve with a key, even without the handwheel. This feature is not available on all valves from other manufacturers.

A-series | One-way sealing slide damper
The A series is designed to handle high torque when the valve has been open for a long time. It has a tapered design that provides better clearance and facilitates the discharge of solids on closing. The valve is one-way and is equipped with internal guides that support the disc, preventing it from bending or deforming under backpressures of up to 30% of maximum working pressure, which is a problem with many other one-way valves.
