When St. James's Gate Brewery – home of Guinness – needed to renovate its internal steel structure, they chose MonoGuard . One reason was that they wanted to stay open throughout the renovation period. As MonoGuard is water-based and has a very low VOC content, this was no problem: the painting was carried out outside working hours and finished an hour before employees arrived at work. MonoGuard is an excellent choice for protecting steel both indoors and outdoors.
A little about Guinness and the St. James's Gate Brewery: Arthur Guinness founded the St. James's Gate Brewery in 1759 with a 9,000-year lease. In the late 19th century, the brewery was the largest in the world, a status that has since been downgraded to the largest stout brewery. The steel structure you see in the photos is in the Guinness Storehouse, a 1902 building used for fermentation. Today, it is a museum with a 7-story atrium in the shape of a Guinness pint.
