CMO Valves specializes in the design, manufacture, and assembly of knife gate valves, penstocks, and butterfly valves. The company was founded in 1993 and has manufacturing in Spain. With an experienced and qualified team, CMO delivers fluid control solutions to a variety of different sectors. Below, we wish to present CMO's knife gate valves and how they can solve the challenges in a Norwegian municipality's water and wastewater systems.
XB Series | Monoblock and Polyurethane Seat
The XB series has a design that allows for full and continuous fluid flow. In the open position, the valve does not cause cavitation or turbulence in the fluid, making it ideal for applications where smooth fluid flow is critical. The valve body is made as a single «monoblock» piece and has an internal polyurethane coating. This construction gives the valve excellent properties for operation with abrasive fluids containing solids in various concentrations.
Main Features:
- Full and continuous fluid flow without cavitation and turbulence
- Two-way sealing to prevent leakage in both directions
- Durable construction with polyurethane coating that protects against abrasive liquids
- Stainless steel AISI316 for damper, spindle, bolts, and nuts for high durability
- LUG design makes the valve suitable for many applications
- Epoxy coating 250µm thickness for good corrosion protection
This valve is designed to withstand high pressure and harsh conditions, making it perfect for applications requiring high reliability and efficiency. Easy maintenance, long service life, and maximum performance.

AB Series | Two-way tight shut-off butterfly valves
The valve body is made from a single piece with seal guides on both sides, allowing it to handle fluids in both directions and withstand high pressure. This design provides a completely flat seat with no internal cavities, preventing the accumulation of solids in the sealing area. The full-bore, circular passageway allows for high flow and minimal pressure loss, while the disc is guided throughout its entire travel to ensure a bidirectional seal.
Design for precision and adaptation
Upon request, the knife gate valve can be supplied with a triangular (V-shaped) or pentagonal diaphragm for applications requiring more precise control.
Durable materials and easy maintenance
The spindle, disc, bolts, and nuts are supplied in AISI 316, which provides better resistance to rust. The independent protective cover makes it easy to perform maintenance, such as stem lubrication, without having to loosen the handwheel. The valve body is made of ductile iron (GJS500-7) and has an epoxy coating of 250µm thickness for good corrosion protection. The yoke has a compact design, and the bronze actuator nut is protected in a lubricated, closed housing, allowing the valve to be operated with a wrench, even without the handwheel. This feature is not available on all valves from other manufacturers.

A-Series | Single-Ended Gate Valve
The A Series is designed to handle high torque when the valve has been open for an extended period. It features a conical design that provides better clearance and facilitates the discharge of solids during closure. The valve is a check valve and is equipped with internal guides that support the disc, preventing it from bending or deforming under back pressure of up to 30% of the maximum working pressure—a problem common with many other check valves.
