Exterior steel structures

The steel profiles were first thoroughly cleaned and prepared with Power Coat Wash and Degrease. All the steel was then primed with Power Coat Adhesion Primer. To achieve the correct fire class, the best possible result and quality, the fire-retardant paint Firetex FX2002 was used on the exterior steel. To provide a good protective coating and the right color for the housing association, Power Coat 3 in 1, RAL 7011 was used as a topcoat.

Challenges:

The project involved cleaning the steel and removing old fire-retardant paint, which turned out not to have been applied correctly by a contractor, before re-treating with fire-retardant paint and applying a top coat.

A painting company was chosen to paint the steel structures in the condominium, so that both the stairs and hallways maintained fire class R30.
