Exterior steel structures, beaker works

As some areas of a truss structure are difficult to reach, it was important to have a simple paint system that had good application properties and good edge coverage. Power Coat 3 in 1 met all the requirements from the customer, and provided the desired flexibility.

All areas to be treated were first washed and prepared for further treatment. The structure was shop primed at the factory. All welds and damage to the shop primer were painted with Power Coat Nitrofest. Power Coat 3 in 1 was then applied to a dry film thickness of 300 microns.

Challenges:

The cup mechanism is exposed to great mechanical wear in a tough industrial environment, corrosion environment C5I.

The mechanical and weather-related wear varies greatly, and the customer therefore wanted a simple paint system that was highly weather-tolerant, without limitations regarding overpainting and with the longest possible lifespan.

Power Coat “3in1” was chosen because of its easy and good application properties, as well as experience with the product's strength from previous projects.

System structure:

√ Shop primed from factory

√ Power Coat Wash and Degrease

√ Power Coat Nitrofix on all damages and welds

√ Power Coat 3 in 1 to desired dry film thickness
