Tank plant I
Bunker Oil AS chose Power Coat 3 in 1 because of the flexibility of the paint system. Power Coat 3 in 1 also does not require pre-treatment to Sa 2 1/2, as many of the competing paint systems do. In addition, it was important to have a local dealer who could provide the necessary follow-up.
Bunker Oil AS saved many days of pre-treatment when they chose Power Coat 3 in 1. In a place as exposed to the weather as Båtsfjord, it is important to utilize the days to apply the paint.
Bunker Oil AS chose to use Power Coat Blyfri Mønje on all areas with incipient corrosion and on the most exposed areas, such as welds and sharp edges. The tanks were then coated with two coats of Power Coat 3 in 1, to the desired dry film thickness.
Challenges:
The Bunker Oil AS tank farm is located in one of the most weather-exposed locations in Norway, and the choice of anti-corrosion paint system is critical.
All maintenance is done “on site”, under very variable conditions. It is therefore important that the paint system is also weather tolerant, in addition to providing very good corrosion protection.
Bunker Oil AS will also operate all the tank facilities during the maintenance period, and it is important to have continuity in the work process.
System structure:
√ Power Coat Wash and Degrease
√ Preliminary treatment to minimum C St 2
√ Power Coat Lead-Free Moen
√ Power Coat 3 in 1 for corrosion class C5M
