Our road marking paint Airport VB09 is suitable for marking airports, roads, parking lots, sports facilities, industrial premises, etc., on both asphalt and concrete. It has good abrasion resistance, good weather resistance and dries quickly (at temperatures above +20°C, the paint can be loaded after 3 minutes without damage). However, for the paint to last a long time and withstand wear, it must be applied correctly.
The substrate must be dry and free of contamination such as oil and grease. Before application, loose material such as dust, sand and clay must also be removed, as such contamination will impair adhesion. The paint must not be applied in damp weather – the relative humidity must not exceed 75%. Be careful when applying to new asphalt. New asphalt surfaces should “dry” for one month before applying the paint.
After application, the paint is water-soluble for approximately ½ hour, and should therefore not be applied if there is a risk of rain.
The paint must be stirred well before use!
Power Coat Airport VB09 is suitable for application with both low and high pressure sprayers. If necessary, the paint can be heated to +30°C- +60°C before application using a flow-through heater. The increased temperature standardizes the spray properties and shortens the drying time.
The recommended VFT is 250-350 µm, which should not be exceeded per coat. Thicker coats than this will easily crack and may peel off from the substrate. The recommended TFT is 150-200 µm.
Avoid contact with zinc-containing objects
Airport VB09 reacts with zinc and alloys containing zinc, e.g. brass. This reaction can cause particles to precipitate out and clog filters and nozzles. Aluminium is also not suitable. All parts that come into contact with the paint should therefore be made of stainless or acid-resistant steel.
