Oxford Flow
Oxford Flow manufactures high quality stemless control valves, developed by Oxford University. Oxford Flow stands for world class valve technology and pioneering work in zero emissions, serviceability and reduced maintenance. The story of Oxford Flow began with a pressure regulator developed by Professor Thomas Povey at the Oxford Thermofluids Institute (University of Oxford) as part of research into jet engines. Povey became increasingly frustrated that market leading regulators could not provide the precise control he needed, so he developed his own instead. The product range was then expanded to cover different markets and applications and Oxford Flow was founded to sell the products worldwide.
The extraction and delivery of the world’s oil and gas, hydrogen and water depend on pipes, pumps and valves, with valves being the weakest link in the infrastructure. Conventional valves tend to leak because they have a number of moving parts, including a mechanical drive, stem, seal and diaphragm that wear quickly and require expensive maintenance. Added to this are the challenges of placement, size and weight. Oxford Flow technology eliminates the stem and seal, external drive and diaphragm – replacing them with a unique piston design that has only one moving part and is easier to machine.
